Sabadell Insurance renews its collaboration with CIEN
- Sabadell Insurance’s financial contribution has enabled the continuity of the specialized staff responsible for launching the laboratory.
- Transcranial magnetic stimulation is a non-invasive, highly precise technique that uses magnetic fields to stimulate specific areas of the brain.
- The technological equipment of the Neurophysiology Laboratory has been funded by the Reina Sofía Foundation.
CIEN’s Neurophysiology and Neuromodulation Laboratory will once again benefit from the support of Sabadell Insurance following the renewal of their collaboration through a €60,000 contribution. This support makes it possible to retain specialized personnel and ensure the continuity of the laboratory’s activity, a key factor in scientific research, where stability and sustained long-term work are essential for advancing clinical trials, consolidating results, and generating solid evidence.
Now fully operational, the laboratory incorporates advanced neurophysiology and brain neuromodulation techniques, including transcranial magnetic stimulation, electroencephalography, and neuronavigation. Transcranial magnetic stimulation, a non-invasive and highly precise tool, makes it possible to activate specific areas of the brain and study the neural mechanisms involved in various neurodegenerative diseases, while also exploring new therapeutic approaches from a translational perspective aimed at improving patients’ quality of life.
A particularly noteworthy aspect of the laboratory’s work is its exploration of music as a natural neuromodulation tool, analyzing how musical stimulation influences brain activity and the relationship between cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes, especially in the context of aging and neurodegenerative diseases. This line of research connects the study of the brain with meaningful real-life experiences, reinforcing an innovative and person-centered approach.
The team investigates how different forms of non-invasive brain stimulation can positively impact neuronal activity and patients’ quality of life. The combination of advanced techniques and natural stimuli such as music opens new opportunities for the development of effective therapeutic strategies based on scientific evidence.
Thanks to the continued support of Sabadell Insurance and the Reina Sofía Foundation, the laboratory maintains its research capacity and will be able to generate solid medium-term results. The continuity of the specialized team is essential for deepening knowledge of neurodegenerative processes and strengthening CIEN’s commitment to scientific excellence and innovation in neurology.
