Since the inauguration of the Reina Sofía Foundation Alzheimer’s Centre (CAFRS) in 2007, CIEN has conducted numerous research projects funded by both public and private sources. Although many of these projects have formally concluded, we have chosen to highlight some of the most significant ones in this section, given their scale and scientific impact. The cohorts established through these projects continue to support subsequent research, while the data and biological samples collected remain valuable resources for ongoing studies. Examples include the Proyecto Vallecas, funded by the Reina Sofía Foundation over a ten-year period, and SCAP-AD, which has officially concluded but whose extensive dataset continues to be analysed to generate further scientific evidence.
