Recognition of Mario Ricciardi’s Poster at AAIC 2025
On September 4, the platform Alzforum highlighted in an article the work presented by Mario Ricciardi, from the Reina Sofía Foundation Alzheimer Center -CIEN in Madrid, with a poster on cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA).
The AAIC 2025, held from July 27 to 31 in Toronto, Canada, brought together leading researchers in Alzheimer’s disease and neurodegenerative disorders worldwide. Ricciardi’s poster showed how MRI scans performed before death in patients with postmortem-confirmed Alzheimer’s disease provided only limited information on the presence of CAA, underscoring the need to develop more accurate biomarkers and improve diagnostic methods to ensure safety in anti-amyloid therapies.
This recognition in Alzforum highlights the importance of the research carried out at the Reina SofíaFoundation-CIEN in the field of neurodegenerative diseases and its contribution to advancing diagnostic tools that can improve care for patients with Alzheimer’s disease.
