CIEN participates in ADPD 2026 in Copenhagen starting today with a strong international scientific presence
The CIEN Foundation (Center for Research in Neurological Diseases) is participating from today, March 17, in the international conference ADPD 2026, held in Copenhagen until March 21, bringing together leading experts in neurodegenerative diseases worldwide.
Throughout the conference, CIEN researchers will play a prominent role with multiple oral presentations and scientific posters focused on biomarkers, neuroimaging, and neuropathology in Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Lewy body dementia, and frontotemporal dementia.
Key presentations by CIEN researchers
CIEN researchers will contribute to several international symposia:
- Cristina Sanchez Martin will open CIEN’s participation with a presentation on brain atrophy patterns and pTau-217 levels (March 17).
- Linda Zhang will present findings on grey matter diffusivity and plasma biomarkers (March 18) and will also present two posters on %p-tau217 as a predictor of cognitive decline.
- Mario Ricciardi Serra will present a neuropathological study on cerebral amyloid angiopathy (March 18).
- Orfeas Vourkas will present comparative results between MRI and FDG-PET in tau-related neurodegeneration (March 21).
- Michel J. Grothe will present a study on brain-wide atrophy patterns associated with hippocampal sclerosis (March 21).
Strong presence in poster sessions
CIEN will also have a strong presence in poster sessions, including:
- Contributions led by Jesús Silva-Rodríguez, focusing on %p-tau217 and other plasma biomarkers as predictors of long-term cognitive decline and clinical progression.
- Additional studies led by Minerva Martinez-Castillo, Sonia Wagner-Reguero, Elizabeth Valeriano-Lorenzo, and Maria Ascensión Zea-Sevilla, covering Lewy pathology biomarkers, α-synuclein diagnostic techniques, GFAP modulation, and the development of a frontotemporal dementia cohort.
Advancing biomarkers and precision medicine
CIEN’s contributions highlight advances in blood-based biomarkers, particularly %p-tau217, and their ability to predict disease progression in preclinical stages.
The research also emphasizes the integration of neuroimaging and biomarker data, supporting the development of new diagnostic tools and advancing precision medicine approaches in neurodegenerative diseases.
CIEN’s participation in ADPD 2026 reinforces its role as an international leader in translational research, contributing to progress in early diagnosis, patient stratification, and the development of new therapeutic strategies.
