Awareness Workshop on Brain Banking
Fundación CIEN presents the pilot initiative“Memory Detectives”, an awareness-raising workshop aimed at educational centres to introduce students to the work of brain banks and research on neurodegenerative diseases.
A delegation from Fundación CIEN, with extensive experience in scientific research, will travel to Elche to deliver a morning training session. The Director of the Brain Bank, Alberto Rábano, together with his team, will lead theoretical and practical sessions tailored to participating students.
The activity is carried out in collaboration with AFA Elche, which will run parallel information and awareness sessions led by María José Giménez, a psychologist specialised in dementia.
The programme includes sessions with different student groups in the educational rooms of the Conference Centre:
- 09:30 – 11:00:5th grade students from CEIP El Pla
- 11:30 – 13:00:6th grade students from CEIP Víctor Pradera
This initiative is supported by the Department of Social Action of the Elche City Council and by Fundación CIEN, which previously promoted the International Conference on Neurodegenerative Diseases (ICND 2025) held in the city in September 2025.
