Fifth EDCTP Forum: call for abstracts and opening of registration

Acaba de ser publicado el anuncio para el 5º Foro anual del programa EDCTP que tendrá lugar el próximo mes de octubre en Arusha, Tanzania.

Existen unas becas para participar en este Foro destinadas especialmente a investigadores africanos. España contribuye a este Foro con 3 becas (bursaries). La condición que ha puesto España para disfrutar de estas 3 becas es que los investigadores provengan de paises hispanoparlantes o lusófonos. Para recibir una de estas becas hay que presentar un abstract sobre algún trabajo que se este llevando a cabo en el área de EDCTP. El plazo para registrarse y presentar abstracts acaba el 31 de marzo. Si se desea pedir una beca hay que especificarlo a la hora de regiastrarse. Aquellos candidatos con mayor puntuación recibiran la beca y se les comunicará antes del 31 de mayo.

Fifth EDCTP Forum: call for abstracts and opening of registration

The Fifth Forum will take place from 12 to 14 October 2009 in Arusha, Tanzania. The Forum’s theme, Fighting HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria: One World, One Partnership reflects the global call for all partners and stakeholders to work in unison and synergy to rid the world the scourge of these diseases of poverty. EDCTP is pleased to announce that registration for the Forum is now open and invites researchers involved on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria to submit their abstract.

Registration opens

All persons wishing to attend this forum are encouraged to register online. Registration is now open and the online registration form ensures an easy processing of your registration. Please note that the call for abstracts is also open until 31 March 2009, and abstracts should be submitted upon registration.

Call for abstracts

The Fifth EDCTP Forum Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts on clinical research on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. All accepted abstracts will be presented in roundtable and plenary sessions or as electronic poster. There will be a limited number of bursaries, particularly African researchers from Africa. Please read the Bursaries section on the website for more information. EDCTP grantees and collaborators are especially encouraged to submit abstracts.

Abstracts can be submitted in the following categories:

 

 

 

The deadline for abstract submission is 31 March 2009. All submitted abstracts will be reviewed on EDCTP relevance and scientific quality by the Forum Scientific Committee. All applicants will be informed of the outcome of the review before 31 May 2009. Authors whose abstracts have been accepted will receive further instructions for presenting their abstracts.
